Dear Lotus Friends, Dear Interested Friends,
The world’s oceans are a unique living realm filled with wonder and diversity. From microscopic plankton to the largest whales, they are home to countless living beings and form a precious treasure of our planet. Yet through human influence, many species of animals and plants are under increasing pressure — many are endangered or have already disappeared.
Since the beginning of time, the sea has carried life within it. It nourishes countless beings and connects heaven, earth, and nature within one great cycle of life. Everything is interconnected and influences one another. When even a single living being is protected, it affects the entire environment, nature, and life itself. When our hearts open to the holistic cosmic and earthly connections, the energy that unites all things can begin to move and flow freely once again.
“Fang Sheng – Giving and Protecting Life” – A Ritual for the Healing of the Oceans
To strengthen a loving and respectful awareness for nature, the oceans, and all life, YiXue warmly invites you to the Baltic Sea on July 12 for the nature event and ritual “Fang Sheng – Giving and Protecting Life.” This ritual is an expression of compassion, a conscious reverence for life, and creates a deep reconnection between human beings, nature, and heaven.
For many years, Grandmaster Wei Ling Yi came to the northern German coast to practice the Fang Sheng ceremony together with Lotus friends. By the sea, in the wind, and beneath the open sky, he taught us to honor life and offer blessings. Many still remember this special power: when the wind moves across the water, when a living being is gently held in mindful hands and released back into the freedom of the sea. In that moment, the heart becomes soft and quiet. A deep reverence for life arises. And we remember: life is originally free. Heaven and earth are connected, and our hearts can become wide, gentle, and filled with light.
On July 12, 2026, the YiXue teacher Lian Yü and the YiXue teacher Wei Na will continue this special tradition and gather with us at the Baltic Sea for the ceremony. Together we will practice, recite mantras, and symbolically accompany life back into the sea with sincere and respectful wishes. After the ceremony, we may go swimming in order to cleanse ourselves and release old energies.
Fang Sheng also means that we release something within the heart.
We let go of what has become heavy.
We let go of what we are holding onto.
We let go of the things that bind us.
In this way, life can return to its natural flow and move freely again. The waves carry the blessings onward. The wind moves the energy. We stand between heaven and earth and once again feel this true connection with life. This also contains the deeper meaning of the tradition that Grandmaster Wei Ling Yi passed on to his students over many years.
A heartfelt welcome to the Fang Sheng Ceremony 2026. Let us together, between heaven and earth, send our blessings into the sea, so that the lotus flower within our own hearts may blossom anew in the wind and in the light.
