🪷 The Meaning of “The Lotus Hand”
When we give each other our hand, the following memory carries a story within it: Through the giving of our hand, we can understand the heart of the other and come to know ourselves. In this brief moment of encounter lies great meaning: The giving of our hand stands for the unity of the world. Only a hand through which blood flows can truly hold on.
Through the mutual touching of our hands, **Yin and Yang** come together and take effect. Our hands possess over **25,000 touch receptors** that resonate with the heartbeat. Thus we can also say: **the universe lies in our hands.** When hand and heart become ONE, a silent, intuitive harmony arises— the brain transmits information to every cell of the body in a lightning-fast, holographic way. We may speak here of a **holographic energy** being transferred, for it represents a holistic, interconnected form of consciousness or life energy that expands in that very moment.
The act of giving hands consists of **three parts physical contact**, transmitted through the base of the thumbs,
and **seven parts depth and strength** that arise in the process. Immediately, a special energy develops: the power of spirit, compassion, and resonance between two human beings. I wish to give my hand to every person on Earth. For the human being is the spiritual creature between Heaven and Earth — capable of holding and letting go. Whoever understands this transformation also knows when it is time to let go.
The hand embodies the principle of the **TWO forces** and the **THREE talents**. Within it lies a hidden secret.
One could say: **the hand is the external brain of the human being.** On the path to health, the hand transmits energy, color, and vitality into our lives. It is a way of inner cultivation.
The **eight-part exercise “Fragrant Gong” (Xiangqi Fa)** is a complete and self-contained series of hand movements that connects with the body. Through these movements, the hands become more supple, blood circulation improves, coordination is enhanced, and health is strengthened.
And thus we may say:
When I give you my hand, tensions between us can dissolve.
When I give you my hand, emotions and words can harmonize.
When I give you my hand, it becomes a foundation for peace — a sign of cooperation and wisdom.
