THE LOTUS WELCOME DANCE

When we dance the Lotus Welcome Dance, we practice the true form of greeting. Compassion reveals itself and grants beauty and happiness to ourselves and all living beings. With its original, cosmic hand gestures—mudras—the Lotus Welcome Dance invites us to turn inward. Wei Ling Yi describes the dance with the following words: “Every step, every movement of the hands is endless in its grace. The vibration of happiness touches everyone. Anyone can dance a pure, harmonious, and peaceful spirit of love and experience happiness within. This form of practice brings harmony to us as individuals and to society. We are all dancers—you are a sacred dancer, clear as the sky and vast as the earth—always in motion. We dance freely on the stage of life. I am a lotus. As a lotus flower, I blossom and merge completely with the dance of life.”

DANCE WITH THE SCARF (Yi Kai Bu)

The Dance with the Scarf, with its harmonious opening movements, allows us to clearly experience, feel, and practice the flow of life energy—Qi. We raise our energy level and release physical and emotional blockages. It is a dance that opens our hearts, brings us joy and moments of happiness, and supports us on our path of nurturing life. The scarf in motion and at rest is a symbol of life itself: opening and closing, a symbol of connection to the outer world, as well as a symbol of looking inward. While dancing, we come to self-awareness. In our consciousness, we immerse ourselves in the movements, uniting with the scarf and vibrating with it in harmony and alignment with heaven and earth.
