THE MOON FESTIVAL 2026
The Moon Festival is one of the most beautiful and poetic traditional festivals of China. For thousands of years, the shining full moon has symbolized the longing for connection, happiness, and a fulfilled life.
The legend of the moon goddess Chang’e, who ascended to the moon, the clear light of the moon, the round and sweet mooncakes, and the joyful gathering of family and friends continue to shape the unique atmosphere of this festival to this day.
Around the world, Lotus friends will come together online. The YiXue teacher Wei Na and YiXue teacher Lian Yü will give a talk from China. We will also have the opportunity to listen to the words of Sifu Wei Ling Yi, who loved the Moon Festival deeply.
All Lotus friends are also warmly invited to come to the World Lotus Center to spend a Gong De weekend and celebrate the Moon Festival together.
We will participate in the online event, enjoy mooncakes and tea, practice together, share our experiences, and support the World Lotus Center through our dedicated work.
THE MOON – A SYMBOL OF LIFE
Even though we may be in different places, we all look up at the same moon.
The roundness of the moon during the Moon Festival symbolizes the coming together of families and invites us to reflect on the wholeness and perfection of life.
The moon waxes and wanes, becomes bright and then dark again, and in this way also symbolizes the highs and lows of our lives.
We experience encounters and farewells, joyful and difficult times, laughter and tears. Through all these experiences, we come to know ourselves more deeply. We change, grow, and cultivate our lives.
Just as the moon gradually grows from a crescent into a full moon, we too can purify and transform ourselves through the cultivation of our hearts, develop our consciousness, and step by step find greater inner peace, harmony, light, and wholeness.
This is also part of the profound wisdom of YiXue culture.
At this special Moon Festival, we remember Sifu Wei Ling Yi with deep connection and gratitude. His teachings, his wisdom, and his love have become a profound part of our lives.
Time continues to move forward, and life continues to change. Yet the YiXue culture and the wisdom of cultivation that Sifu shared with us continue to shine in our hearts like the light of the moon.
His teachings and our connection accompany us, give us strength, and remind us to continue walking our path of cultivation with trust and a heart filled with light.
From China to the World Lotus Center, from one radiant full moon to our many Lotus hearts: thousands of kilometers may separate us physically – yet our hearts remain connected.
May the moon be round and complete.
May our hearts be full and fulfilled.
May the Lotus and our hearts open,
and may wisdom blossom within us.
We wish you all a joyful, luminous, and deeply fulfilling Moon Festival 2026!
